Facilities
We boast some of the best postharvest facilities in the U.S. We have
approximately 2400 square ft. of controlled environment interior space that is
used to simulate retail and consumer conditions. The facility has 15 controlled
environment rooms (temperature, relative humidity, light, irrigation). We also
have four low-temperature storage rooms and access to several greenhouses.
A large laboratory is used to prepare and evaluate experimental material. Major
equipment includes various analytical instruments, i.e., gas chromatograph,
temperature and humidity recorders. We also have access to microbiological and
molecular biological laboratories.
