Terril A. Nell established the Post-harvest program on flowering potted plants and fresh cut flowers at the University of Florida and currently serves as Chair of the Environmental Horticulture Department. He has published numerous scientific and trade magazine articles and presented talks in the United States, Holland, Denmark, Italy, Japan and Canada. He co-authored the “Flower and Plant Care Manual: The 21st Century Approach” published by the Society of American Florists and wrote “Flowering Potted Plants: Prolonging Shelf Performance” (Ball Publishing, 1993). He was the organizer and Convener for the Seventh International Conference on Post-Harvest of Ornamental Plants.
Terril represented Horticultural Sciences on a 6-member international panel to review the Danish Plant Science Research Programs. He serves on the Science Advisory Board of several national horticulture companies and has served on the Board of the Society of American Florists since 1995. He is currently president of SAF, with his term lasting through 2005.
